The human rights of women include their right to have control over and decide freely and responsibly on matters related to their sexuality including sexual and reproductive health, free of coercion, discrimination and violence. Equal relationships between women and men in matters of sexual relations and reproduction, including full respect for the integrity of the person, require mutual respect, consent and shared responsibility for sexual behaviour and its consequences.

ASTRA Advisory Board

The ASTRA Advisory Board (AB) was created as the consultative body for the Network and started its activities in 2003. The main goal of the AB is to advise ASTRA about policies and programs as well as funding opportunities. The Advisory Board consists of up to ten individuals, including both ASTRA members and external members. In principle, the ASTRA Advisory Board meets once a year.

Functions of the Advisory Board:

• Serve as ASTRA ambassadors, promote the Network globally and establish useful connections;
• Advise ASTRA's strategic plans, programs and development;
• Support ASTRA’s fundraising efforts.
